1.4 The tax plan of a freelance consultant must consider IR35
A The significance of IR35 if you are a freelance consultant.
"May you live in interesting times." (Chinese curse)

You are a freelance consultant and you have been offered a contract and are aware of the available contracting options - but you do not know how much cash will eventually arrive in your personal bank account.

  • How much tax and National Insurance that will have to be paid to HM Revenue & Customs?
  • A decision must be made to establish whether IR35 is to be applied to the contract or not.
  • If the contract is subject to IR35 then the calculation of tax and National Insurance is different than if the contract is exempt from IR35.
  • This decision is fundamental if you are to do effective tax planning.

We can help you make sure that IR35 is dealt with correctly.
